Case Study #5: Complete Ranch Renovation
The goal is a complete overhaul, turning a decrepit foreclosed ranch into a high performance home with curb appeal, all for under $140,000.
We repainted the walls and replaced the tiles, giving the bathroom a fresh and clean appearance. It is lighter and brighter, which gives the room a larger feel. We also remodeled the kitchen with top of the line appliances, installing extra cabinets and a functional island. Dated wall paints were removed and new lighting was added to brighten the entire area. In the living room, we took a low ceiling, opening it up to a spacious, vaulted great room. It is truly amazing how much larger the living room, dining room, kitchen spaces combined feel with this ceiling height change. Old beam ceilings and carpets were replaced by brand new hardwood floors. We transformed the exterior of the house by painting over the old brick surface, adding privacy fences for the large backyard and updating the landscaping.
