Heirloom Design Build Featured on The Marietta Daily Journal
Heirloom Design Build is featured on the Marietta Daily Journal. Check out this awesome article on Heirloom’s Victorian residence renovation in Candler Park.
Heirloom Design Build took a dilapidated 1890s Victorian house and restored it in a way that preserved its historic charm while turning it into a cozy home for a 21st century family of four.
Our design team worked together with the family to create their dream house while staying within their budget. HDB completely renovated the first floor and removed the existing roof to add a second story. In addition, the second story living space was designed within the newly built attic space, allowing to create a large and spacious home while retaining the historical integrity and keeping the house in scale with its neighbors.
HDB was able to strip and reuse the existing wood trim, original 1893 hard pine floors, and unique tiled fireplaces and mantles. The owner also chose materials consistent with the house’s original Victorian architectural style.
Now, the home provides everything this growing family needs to thrive in this beautiful and highly accessible neighborhood. The finished product blends historic charm with modern comfort. Click here to see the details of how this dilapidated residence came back to life again!
